Are you an emerging writer looking for a new, radical way to tell your story? Keen to write from real life but don’t know where to start? Join us at Magenta House on Friday 23 May from 2pm-4pm for a knowledge-sharing session with Candice Chung, food journalist and author of the new book Chinese Parents Don’t Say I Love You.
This is your chance to ask Candice questions about all things writing - from memoirs, food journalism, and writing genres to sustaining your practice and understanding editorial pitches. Bring a specific question about a work in progress you’d like to troubleshoot or simply come along to gain craft insights. This is an intimate and inclusive workshop for emerging writers and editors, with preferences for participants who belong to migrant and marginalised communities.
House-made refreshments will be provided.
Spots are limited to eight participants to maintain a gentle-paced learning environment.

Candice Chung is a writer, editor and a former restaurant reviewer for The Sun-Herald. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Good Food, The Australian Gourmet Traveller, SBS Food, Griffith Review and more. She is a founding member of Diversity in Food Media Australia, which supports and promotes underrepresented voices in food media.
