In Cebuano, 'kinabuhi' means 'existence' and 'life.'Kinabuhi is a Filipino fashion brand focused on environmental regeneration and sustainable livelihoods in the Philippines. The independent label collaborates with the Hablonan ni Lauriana community of handloom weavers in Argao, Cebu to produce artisan items using upcycling textile waste, such as secondhand clothing and factory remnants, and yarns from natural abaca and pineapple fibres.
Inspired by traditional Filipino textile patterns and Visayan looming methods, Kinabuhi products are woven by hand, not electricity, and involve locally-sourced non-toxic plant dyes - both reducing carbon footprint.
